Vancouver high school students quiz Martin on integrity, same sex marriage

VANCOUVER (CP) - Prime Minister Paul Martin went back to school Thursday, checking in at the principal's office at 9 a.m. sharp and stopping to talk with lip-glossed girls, band geeks and the student council.

A crowd of about 800 students assembled in the steamy Britannia high school gym, ready with tough questions for Martin about health care, the gun registry, his favourite hockey team and a zinger on same-sex marriage.

The students appeared bored with the sponsorship scandal and didn't grill Martin on it directly.

"Some people feel the issue is a bit tired," said Eric Thewalt, 16.
