Nigeria Fuel Strike Continues
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3787283.stm

This is of particular interest to me. My wife is from Nigeria and is in the country at the moment. She returned home to bury her mother and has been having a terrible time with her own medical condition and now this. She was due to return next Wednesday, but now I don't know when she'll be able to return.

And I've always been sympathetic to union issues. So, this is a particularly vexing issue for me.

1. Nigeria Fuel Strike Suspended (for now)
CNN is reporting that the fuel strike is suspended.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/africa/06/11/nigeria.strike.ap/index.html

The strike was preventing my wife from making her way to Lagos where she's scheduled to leave next Tuesday night. I've been beside myself with worry about this because the international airlines were flying in & out of Lagos, but the domestics were grounded. If she couldn't get to Lagos on time, then her ticket home would be voided and we would have to buy a one way full fare short notice, about $5,000.
