What is up with the Iraqi Elections?
I am not interested in ExPat voting in other countries.

How many eligible voters in the country of Iraqi?
How many registered?
How many voted?
Does anyone know these answers?

Will someone post these answers when we can find out.
I do not want to be spun by the US non-media, who takes orders from the shrub.

I know that we are *supposedly* not state run media but you sure could fool me.

Please post in all reverent categories on this board.

Thanks

3. Do you really think that there's a chance that we will know?
We are basically forced to rely on the MSM to give us info on this, and they can only report what they are told in briefings.

8. BBC (Thursday): First partial result in Iraq vote
From the BBC Online
Dated Thursday February 3

First partial result in Iraq vote

Iraq's electoral commission says 1.6m ballots have been counted at its headquarters over the past two days.

The ballots represent about 10% of registered voters, poll officials said.

Partial results show the United Alliance, backed by Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani, leading with more than one-million votes.

The Alliance's nearest rival so far is the list of candidates led by interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, with about 360,000 votes.

While I do not believe the United Alliance is a scion of democratic virtue, it is perceived to be an anti-occupation slate. If this holds up, and there is no reason to believe it won't, then the elections, imperfect as they were, will be a slap in the face to Bush and the neoconservatives.

And if Allawi and his quislings emerge victorious, then we can assume that Bush sent Katherine Harris and Ken Blackwell to Baghdad to count the votes.
