Iraqi Dignity Amendment

Friends for a Non-Violent World and Peace in the Precincts present the:

Iraqi Dignity and Self-Determination Amendment

Real democracy depends upon respect for human dignity and self-determination.

Democracy for Iraqis is a great promise, but even with successful elections, experts, including the Department of Defense Science Board, warn that US policies are making things worse in Iraq and the world, because they violate Iraqi rights and substantiate claims of US hyposcrisy and ulterior motives.

Congress must ensure that money and troops requested by the President in the upcoming budget supplemental bill do not pay for policies that perpetuate human rights abuses and override Iraqi self-determination.

An Iraqi Dignity and Self-Determination Amendment can redeem past mistakes and provide Iraqis with what they need to rule themselves and US troops with a ticket home.
