Camp SCOTUS
There’s already a hedgerow of lawn chairs and sleeping bags on the sidewalk in front of the Supreme Court, just south of the stairs.

If it weren’t for the all the highlighters and law school textbooks, balanced in laps or pouring out of backpacks, you’d think this was Wal-Mart the morning after Thanksgiving.

It’s a bit headier than all that. About 50 people are expected to get a seat in tomorrow’s arguments in District of Columbia v. Heller. And for some, if that means 36 hours of torpor, so be it.

I wish I could have been in a position to be present for arguments.

Recordings of them should be interesting to hear though...could have sworn someone said they'd be available shortly after arguments finish.

Actually I have altered my normal plans quite a bit, so I can get in all the "Commentary"

You can go their, to keep abreast of the enemy's activity!! Hopefully their activities will made pointless by a sound ruling from the SCOTUS.

2. you're in luck

http://www.c-span.org/

The Court agreed to C-SPAN's request for same-day release of audio recordings.

I'd expected to find that they would be broadcasting the hearing. Interesting. Situation is the opposite here -- trials are not broadcast (or taped) ever under any circumstances, but I often enjoy an hour or two of Supreme Court of Canada hearings on a Saturday morning on C-PAC ... after Premiere League season ends and I get the clicker back ...

4. 'sokay

When I looked at the link it specifically didn't say anything about live broadcast, which was what I'd been looking for -- it only talked about early release of audio tapes -- so I assumed there wasn't.

Damn. I am unfortunately slaving away at two massive and pressing bits of work involving tax law and international conflicts of law and both require my undivided attention (you see my problem already) because, to be perfectly honest, I can barely follow a word of them as it is, particularly the one written by the European, this being even more of a problem when they're both also so unspeakably boring that the mind will (as you see) wander at the slightest provocation. I'll have to catch it in rerun.
