1. Fake Pizza Delivery Men Kill Man In Home Invasion
http://www.local6.com/news/2506807/detail.html

"Two men posing as pizza delivery men kicked in the door of an Orlando apartment late Tuesday and shot and killed a person inside after demanding money, according to Local 6 News.
Police said the two suspects who where carrying a pizza bag knocked on an apartment door at the Sabal Palm Apartments in Metrowest. When the three men and one woman inside said they didn't order pizza, the men burst into an apartment and yelled, "where's the money," Local 6 News reported."

A good reason to own a gun and have it ready at all times.

4. i live in Orlando
and the pizza-man disguise thing is a very popular crime. A similar situation happened in my neighborhood when i was a kid. The victim of the attempted robbery, in this case, though, was an 80 year-old retired brigadeer general who welcomed the pizza-delivery man (who came at 11 at night) with a 12 gauge shotgun. The general died of a gunshot wound later in the hospital, but the fake pizza-man died in the foyer of the 80year old's house - of severe lead sandwich overdose.

It turned out that the fake pizza-delivery man was. . wait for it. . the boyfriend of the General's caretaker.

This event, which happened when I was so young, and the aftermath of which I went down the street to witness (Ambulances, med-evac's etc) impacts, to this day more than perhaps anything else, my view of gun-ownership. And I don't consider myself any less progressive because of it.
