OK, who agrees with the following?
Ok, folks, let's hear your opinions. Do you subscribe to the following?

I believe the police and the military should have firearms. Civilians should not.

I support the ban of various, if not all, semi-automatic rifles. I support licensing and registration of firearm owners, waiting periods, purchasing restrictions (1 firearm per month), etc.

I support the ban of all firearms excluding single shot rifles that can be used for hunting. A firearm license and hunting license would be required, of course, along with a full background investigation.

I want to prevent people from engaging in free trade ("gun show loophole") as it pertains to firearms. The government should be informed of each and every firearm transaction. We will need that information later if we decide to confiscate firearms.

2. I disagree with pretty much everything you said.

Most Dems and most liberals are supporters of the Constitution , including the 2nd amendment. The 'gun grabber' label that the conservatives try to plaster us with pertains to a very very small minority of Democrats. I favor registration, the closing of the 'gun show loophole and bans on automatic weapons' but I sure don't want to take anyones guns or prevent them from owning them.

5. The point of this...
Is to show that most Dems are not for these. Well maybe some are, but not where I live. I know that most Democrats are like me, and support the gun owner. The above lines are basically what the average gun owner thinks that Democrats think. Sure, there are vehemently anti gun Dems, like Schumer and Boxer and Feinstein, but they are the minority. Just like the Repubs have an anti gun Senator, McCain. Am I right, here? If we can convince the gun owner that we are not against him, we'll win more often in elections.

6. Nah,
concealed carry should be legal in every state. No burglar, terrorist, or Federal agent should be able to go into a home knowing the residents were unarmed. this is what the 2nd is about, protection from the evil-doers, whether they be misunderstood people with bad childhoods, or bloated blood-suckers of the BFEE.

8. Hear, Hear!
I love concealed carry, I love open carry. I practice open carry in Ohio, and concealed in most every other state.

7. Nope - not as worded - indeed in general - not ever
"The government should be informed of each and every firearm transaction" however does work for me as I approve of backgrounf checks and skill testing and licenses and ballistic data bases.

I think Bush has shown that a dictatorship of the rich and corporate can be brought about by a coup - it doesn't need a majority vote as long as the media reports MUST reflect the corporate owners views - and that "The government should be informed of each and every firearm transaction" is not a key item needed for that loss of liberty.

10. So I was at the shooting range the other day...
I got hasseled by the cops because I have 2 large capacity combat magazines for my handgun. Luckly I also have the receipts that shows I bought them before the law changed. Gun control is a touchy subject. I beleive in responsable gun ownership.

11. I believe EVERYONE should be issued a musket, a bag of black
pownder and 100 pellets with their SS card and be required to complete 3 weeks of training in care and use of the musket upon their 12th birthday. To pass you must reach "Minuteman" status, otherwise no more ammo until the next year when you try again.

12. Don't forget to include...
a 10¢ per bullet tax.

Gun owners must submit a DNA sample to be entered in a database.

Allow for random, unannounced inspections from the BATFE.

All firearms must be stored in a secure bank vault or police station when not in use.

When ever gun owners, hunters and target shooters are transporting or using their
firearms, they must wear a 8" x 12" blaze orange placard around their neck, a "Cat in the Hat" top hat
and "Danger! Gun on Board" sign prominently displayed on their vehicle.

Landlords, employers, banks and credit agencies should have the right to refuse housing, jobs and services
to gun owners.

It would be illegal to display, discuss, instruct or mention anything positive regarding firearms in the
presence of a child.

No firearm or ammunition shall be capable of a muzzle velocity greater than 400fps or a maximum effective range greater than 50'.

Is all that satisfactory?

14. Very simple reason to disagree
I believe the police and the military should have firearms. Civilians should not.

Police ARE civilians.
