Wow, think of the possibilities!
$20 says one shows up in civilian clothes in a few years.

In this handout picture made available Tuesday Oct. 28, 2003 by the Israel-based Cornershot Co. in Tel Aviv, Israel, a rifle is seen composed of two parts; the front, that can swivel from side to side, containing a pistol with a color camera mounted on top, and the back section which consists of the stock, trigger and a monitor. According to a report by the Israeli daily 'Maariv' newspaper, the pistol, produced by the Florida-based Cornershot Holdings, is being tested by the Israeli military and has already been bought by a number of special forces around the world. The unique weapon allows a soldier to remain behind cover, with only the barrel of the rifle exposed in the direction of the hostile fire. (AP Photo/HO, Cornershot)"

2. What if the TV breaks?
You're going to have to stick your fat head around the corner to shoot...

Me, I'd rather stick with your issue:1 each, M-4 carbine. Not many moving parts, light, small, moderately powerful cartridge.

This new whiz-bang gun has too many things that can go wrong with it, especially when you need it most (like those untested safety mechanisms now required (or soon to be required, I forget) on guns sold in NJ)

3. "Interesting..."
That's interesting. It looks like it has a Glock pistol as the base firearm, mounted inside the extra hardware, with an extended threaded barrel. It's a clever combination of existing technology.

4. I really don't like this idea
especially as this was already tried once IIRC.

6. Does the TV pick up the Cartoon network?
Might be nice if a trooper could play DVD's on it between engagements.

Too much technology in combat scares the bejabbers out of me.

7. While there might be
certain niche applications for high-tech gadgets, I generally despise the idea of putting a battery-operated anything on a combat weapon. (Certain weapon lights on long guns are the only practical exception.)

9. Absolute toss.....
Useful in about 1 in a 10,000 cases, surely? It can't be that accurate when used round a corner, and I'm pretty sure that using a mirror would work just as well, wouldn't it?

And any extra stuff that can go wrong is just a pain in the arse.....it's like 4x4s with computer systems that can only be fixed in major cities.....no use to you if they break in the middle of nowhere.

""it is toss, as my British comrades say""

tosh, surely. :)

"what if there is a nuclear device, or emp device, that detonates within the region. Poof, all electronics are gone."

I'd imagine under those circumstances, shooting round corners wouldn't be your highest priority :D
