Teen Intruder Shot Dead in Dallas
DALLAS -- A 17-year-old burglary suspect ended up shot to death late Wednesday morning when he confronted a man with a gun in an east Oak Cliff home

Dallas police say Gabriel Flores allegedly kicked in the door of a home in the 300 block of Hobson St. He was still inside when the 51-year-old son of the elderly homeowners came by to drop off a newspaper.

The son, who has a concealed handgun license and was carrying his weapon, confronted Flores. Police say Flores drew his own weapon and fired at the son as he fled the house. The son returned fire and struck Flores once.

Always a shame to see a teenager lose their life. Always a shame when a teenager chooses to endanger themselves by committing a crime also. No winners here, but at least an innocent man, obeying the law, didn't lose his life by walking in on a robbery.

8. It is unfortunate
But if he had run without pulling his gun on the son of the resident, he would almost certainly still be alive. Suppressive fire works best when you are in a squad sized element and have a light machine gun in the mix. Not so well at room to room distances when you are by yourself.

9. A sad situation, but it certainly could have been sadder... pretty unusual for the guy to die
from ONE GSW.
