I've Got Some Bad News, Folks.........

Many of you who frequent the J/PS board know Jody, a regular participant in the gun discussions. I just received an e-mail from him - his wife of 46 years, Joyce, passed away last Friday. The funeral was yesterday.

We may have our differences here at DU, but when one of us is hurting we put all that aside. This is one of those times.

Those who wish to post their condolences to Jody can do so by replying to this message. Let's keep it kicked up for the next few days to give everyone a chance to post, and so Jody can see it when he returns.

When my father died, my Mother took it hard, you can not live with someone that long without that person becoming part of you. You had 46 years of good times with her, remember them, and by that you honor her.

I do not know if you have any Children and Grandchildren (I am assuming you do) go visit them. Go to a place SHE would want to have gone with you and her Children and Grand-Children. She will be with you in spirt and in your heart in that visit and you can slowly accept that she is no longer physically with you.

I know you are hurting, I wish I could do something to truly ease that hurt, but all I can do is these comments. Words are weak, but that is all I, or anyone else, can do to ease the pain you are going through.

I lost my Mom earlier this year and my Dad lost his partner of 59 years.

It is a devastating thing to deal with. The only comfort is in knowing that as long as your memory goes on, they will always be a part of you and your life.
