Who's watching the watchmen?
Only cops and military should have guns blah blah.

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/miami-dade/breaking-news/story/1406532.html

A marked Miami-Dade police car, containing bulletproof vests and handguns, was stolen while parked at a gas station Friday night

Police immediately began to search for the stolen car, concerned that several pieces of equipment inside -- including two laptop computers, two bullet proof vests and two .38 caliber revolvers -- would get into the wrong hands.

According to police, the car and equipment were found sometime after midnight

Sure, we believe you. :sarcasm:

1. Reminds me of the cop who left a full auto M16 under the seat of his van.
Then was SHOCKED when someone stole it.

At least in this case it was just .38s and some armor you can probably get on eBay. I'd be more worried about the laptop computers, who knows what those contain.

2. You DO realize that "bulletproof" vests and .38 revolvers are available everywhere?
(I'd have posted differently if I understood what the sarcasm smilie referenced)

3. Sorry
I probably should've emphasized my points a little more. One would be yeah right, we believe (not) they're carrying .38's, or rather had them in the unit and not holstered. What were two .38's doing stored in the cruiser? Backups? Two?

"Not to worry John Q Public, it was "only" a pair of .38's, not Sig .45's or anything "threatening" to the sheeple."

7. Met a Texas DPS trooper, she has
carried a SIG .45 for four years and highly endorses it. She is also one of the most professional LEO's that I've ever encountered, she's very understanding when you reply "yes ma'am" instead of "yes trooper" LOL!

The vehicle, a four-door Chevy Impala, was parked in the officer’s driveway. After starting the vehicle, the officer went back inside the home to get his child, said Detective Mary Wheat, spokeswoman for the Portland Police Bureau. When the officer returned to the car a few minutes later, it was gone.

There were no weapons in the car when it was taken.

Of course not :sarcasm:

http://articles.sfgate.com/2009-05-24/bay-area/17200410_1_car-concert-friday-night-first-aid-kit

Cruisers like the stolen car are worth up to $50,000. This one came equipped with a modified shotgun capable only of firing beanbags, a laptop computer, a 10-channel police radio, flares and a first aid kit. The gun is locked to its holder and the laptop is bolted to the car and can only be turned on with special codes.

-------------------------------------------------

overheard at the Walmart guncounter: "how much for beanbags?"
