NYRA Racing Officials Meet With Prosecutors

The Associated Press
Tuesday, August 5, 2003; 2:33 PM

NEW YORK –– The New York Racing Association met with prosecutors Tuesday in an apparent bid to head off a federal tax fraud indictment.

NYRA chairman Barry Schwartz, the corporation's lawyers and other representatives refused to discuss the meeting as they left the offices of the U.S. attorney in Brooklyn.

"I really have nothing to say," Schwartz said.

NYRA reportedly has offered to pay a fine to avoid charges of conspiracy to commit tax fraud.

1. The corporation pays a negligible tax-deductible fine and the CEO is not
prosecuted. Corporations are gaining rights as fast as "We the People" are losing our rights. And some naive people want me to give up my inalienable right to defend self and property?

The People shouted, "We the People are dead, long live the Corporation", and the high priests of Mammon laughed at how easy it was to destroy the world's longest running, most successful experiment in democracy.
