13-year-old charged in killing of 17-year-old; district to close all its school Friday in response to 'emergency crisis'http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100114/NEWS/100119835CITY OF NEWBURGH - A 17-year-old is dead and a 13-year-old is in custody, charged with murder after a knife fight Wednesday in Newburgh.
Police identified the 17-year-old as Levy King Flores of Newburgh. Officers responded at 4:20 p.m. to the Newburgh campus of St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital for reports of a 17-year-old and 12-year-old who had been stabbed. While they were there a 14-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl also arrived in the emergency room with stab wounds.
Flores, the 17-year-old, was stabilized and boarded onto a helicopter bound for Westchester Medical Center. He died on the way.
Police were able to speak to him and the 12-year-old at St. Luke's and learned there had been some sort of fight at the corner of First Street and Carpenter Avenue. Police said their investigation led them to the 13-year-old suspect. He was charged with second-degree murder and arraigned in city court before he was placed into custody of the Orange County Sheriff's Office. Police did not release his name.

I posted this here so that I could reply with a link when the retalitory drive by shooting occurs. I predict a shooting of a Carpenter Ave resident before Wednesday. I further predict that any siblings of this suspect or the victim will also be involved in a gun related violent event within the year.
