3. LOL @ the hyperbole
You'd think an 'expert' would know better.

"Ooh, 2700 feet per second, wow!" Big numbers scare me. No, please don't tell me how many atoms there are in one mole of something. I'd die right on the spot.

When you pay an idiot to be an expert commentator you can expect him to sound idiotic.

What a complete joke. The sad part is some people will believe his crap analysis.

.. as though it's the gun itself, not the caliber, that makes it a 'safari' gun.

I guess my little 10/22 with folding stock, pistol grip, and detachable magazine must be meant for elk.

10. My favorite bits...
I love the way they were continually looking at their teleprompters.

"It might be used as a rifle when your really trying to aim and hit something." Well no shit. Show of hands; any gun owners here have any firearms that might be used when you are really not trying to aim OR hit something?

"The basic common citizen to own something like this, is almost ridiculous" Again, show of hands; anyone own a .223?

"If you told me this guy was an adventurer and traveled to Africa on safaris four times a year to kill elephants. I would say ok this is a great weapon." Huh? Show of hands; how many here, if presented the opportunity to hunt elephants would bring along a .223 to do it?

I missed the rest of the video because of my laughter.

Almost 3 minutes to push an agenda that is so clear my neighbor's three year old daughter could see through it. Ya know what else? They went on a little phony (actually the whole thing was phony) amazed tirade that there was ammunition in the rifle. Yep. The rifle had ammunition in it... Really, there was ammunition in the rifle. I'm not kidding, THERE WAS AMMUNITION IN THE RIFLE!!!

Holy crap! Now if they said that there was string cheese or pictures of my mom in the rifle, I may have been astounded. It's like saying "OMG! There was gas in the car! Everybody, your not going to believe this... THERE IS GAS IN THE CAR!!!"

Oh btw... Speed of sound is closer to 768mph... Not what that "ballistics expert" said... Hmm... You think he would know that. Not that I am discrediting him or anything. Just that you would think that an expert in the field would know what he is talking about. Just saying...

Where's my Tylenol?

13. re a round in the chamber..
.. that part is part of 'the rest of the story'..

The guy claimed he was "cleaning" his gun with the magazine removed and dropped it / knocked it off the dresser and killed his girlfriend.

The fact that another round was in the chamber gives lie to his statement about the removed magazine. I know, confused me too until I googled her name and read the news stories.

18. I don't care about that...
There "you people" go again, smearing your facts all over the place, ruining a perfectly emotional conversation. Your facts don't fit my point of view, so I am dismissing them. I stand by my original statement because I am smarter than you. Therefore you could not possibly bring anything to the table to refute me. I'm smarter, so if you don't agree, your are soooo obviously wrong.

So... Where are your fact's now Mr. Smarty-pants? Hmmm?

Seething with :sarcasm:

He is so full of crap, anyone with BASIC knowledge can see thru that... REALLY, a .223 for elephants?!!?!?!? HA HA HA HA!!!!

It is Illegal to hunt Deer with that round in most states, because it is TOO WEAK..

Too bad he did run the power numbers on a more common 30-06....He would have melted into a pile of stinky goo in pure shock.

states yes but it is fine out to about 150 yrd after that it no longer has 900ft lb of kinetic energy, the min to take a dear humanely.

I have hunted with one an it is fine most people that complain about the idea of deer hunting with a 223 have never bow hunted.

ONE time out of all the times I have bow hunted I had dropped dow dead before she hit the ground most of the time you wait for them to bleed out

edit: for spelling humanely not humanly silly goose

Another case of facts without context. They must be channeling Faux News.

Yeah, most guns do about that. The bigger stuff a bit slower, the smaller stuff a bit faster.

28. "A very sophisticated weapon"
Bitch, please; the Galil is largely modeled on the Finnish Valmet variant of the AKM, rechambered for 5.56x45mm. It's more accurate than an AK and almost as reliable, and more reliable than an M16 variant, albeit not as accurate beyond 200 meters. The most sophisticated part about the design was the incorporation of a wire-cutter and a bottle opener in the original bipod.

This is a military assault rifle, I don't care what anyone tells me.

If it won't fire multiple rounds with a one pull of the trigger, it's not a military assault rifle, I don't care what you don't care, Mr. self-styled firearms "expert." Jesus, any of the regulars on most gun boards could do a better job than this bozo. How come I can't get this gig?

33. A useful piece of reference
That was another thing: the "expert" going on a length about velocity, rattling off numbers as if anyone had time to process them beyond "uh, that sounds like a lot," when anyone who's taken high school physics can tell you that what matters is a) kinetic energy and b) the efficiency of the bullet in transferring that energy to the target.

A .45 ACP is markedly slower than a 9x19mm, but its heavier mass means it has more momentum, while its wider diameter causes it to transfer more of that energy to the target. As many regulars will know, being shot with 9mm FMJ rounds has been likened to being stabbed with an icepick, resulting in deep but narrow wounds, that are eminently survivable and barely incapacitating provided no vital organs are hit (and even that's no guarantee).
