seattle timesTwo people were shot during a home invasion robbery early Monday in Kirkland and a third suspect was apprehended. Authorities are searching for two other suspects.
King County sheriff's spokesman John Urquhart said medical marijuana was being grown in the house in the 11000 block of Juanita Drive Northeast and that's likely the motive for the robbery.
"We are aware of the house," said Urquhart.
The incident occurred just before 5 a.m. when the armed homeowner confronted the robber, who also was armed. The suspect and homeowner both were shot.
The suspect was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, said Urquhart, while the homeowner's injuries were not as serious

Note: it does not say the homeowner was arrested, and he likely was not, will not be, if the facts are consistent with his story - that he shot in response to a home invasion, let alone an armed home invasion as this seems to be
i've argued this with people before and the facts are clear (i've been involved in several of these investigations). USUALLY,when a homeowner shoots in what appears to be self defense, they are not arrested. no PC, no arrest.PERIOD
you got a homeowner exercising two important rights
1) the right to grow medical mj pursuant to initiative in WA state (still sadly against federal law and god knows obama has done little to nothing to promote change on this, although he claims federal raids of medical mj clinics are going to stop)
2) the right to keep and bear arms in defense of himself, his property, etc. as guaranteed under both the 2nd amendment AND the WA state constitution
