Stabbing Victim Speaks Out
Vaughn begins his physical and emotional recovery just one day after he says his neighbor -- Rickie Mosgrove-- tried to kill him with a knife.

"At the time he stabbed me I wasn't for sure that he had stabbed me until I got up and I could feel the blood running down my back," said Vaughn.

Vaughn says his neighbor's daughter came to his house for help Saturday night and Mosgrove followed.

"He approached the property and wanted to talk and when he came on the property he brought out a knife and we wrestled to the ground," said Vaughn

That's when Vaughn says he pulled out his gun in self defense.

4. Maybe he should have pulled out pen and paper
and drawn a "knife free zone" sign? After all these type of signs are sooooooooo effective.

7. Where did you get that idea?
I'm very supportive of the action saving the woman's life referred to in the OP's article. I was making fun of the anti-gun people and how they think making everything a gun free zone will stop crime.

10. I wasn't referring to you.
I was referring to those who feel that people shouldn't defend themselves and should just call the police.

12. Like this?
"I'd rather have a cell phone and hope that I can text message 9/11. n/t"

"Why do civilians need guns? It is the duty of the state to protect its citizens. "

"Time to give up the 'wild west' show, and move on. Most people just call the cops."

That's just in a cursory googling here.

What Firethingy Dave said:

I was referring to those who feel that people shouldn't defend themselves and should just call the police.

What your cursory google produced: a bunch of people talking about GUNS -- NOT about DEFENDING THEMSELVES.

See where you went wrong?

Here.

That help at all?

16. For the benefit of our bitter and jaded law clerk from Canada.
I was referring to those who criticize people for shooting intruders in their homes. It seems that they think that most of those people are simply poor misguided souls who pose no threat to the residents of that home and are only robbing homes to get money for food to feed their starving children.

Personally I don't give a damn what they think, if there is an intruder in my home I will try my best to eliminate what I see as a threat.

17. David, grow up

If I were to say that I am or ever was a law clerk, I would be lying.

You call me a law clerk. What does that make you?

I was referring to those who criticize people for shooting intruders in their homes.

I have no idea whom or what you were referring to. What you SAID, and I responded to, was:

I was referring to those who feel that people shouldn't defend themselves and should just call the police.

And those people are figments of your fevered/fallacious imagination. Composed of ectoplasm or straw. Who knows?

20. the problem I have

- and it's purely mine, I know - is that ever since I first saw your username, the only thing I've been able to think of when I think of it is

Okay, not necessarily the robot version. ;) But "fireplug" is what I always want to say ...

My sister is cured and embarked on another reno project. My mum, sadly, is not, the lymphoma persists, it may spread, it is causing her pain, and it will in all probability mean she only has 5 or more years to go now. She'll be 80 this spring, so that's a bit of a drag. Thanks ...

Surely this guy only resorted to a gun because "he wasn't a real man". (sarcasm)
