I just rolled out of bed to a ringing phone, getting ready to send me out on a four state odyssey for my work. As I am sitting here, perusing the news and checking things in the Gun Rights community, and watching for signs of activity in the moribund Gun Control movement. I noticed several things of interest..
Several "anti-gun" editorials are out and about to day. It is almost like they are getting marching orders from somewhere
But most worrying is this..
“Firearms in Commerce: Assessing the Need for Reform in the Federal Regulatory Process”
http://judiciary.senate.gov/hearings/hearing.cfm?id=4771 This possibly could be about the NRA's push for S. 941 and H.R. 2296: The “Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Reform and Firearms Modernization Act of 2009”
http://www.nraila.org/Issues/FactSheets/Read.aspx?id=251Which is a good thing..BUT, I as a lifelong Democrat, I full well understand the potential for a couple of our "colleagues" in the Legislature, that are on the "outside fringes" of this issue, and well outside mainstream America, to use this hearing as a platform for pushing gun control, and gun bans.
After all, it is about two months before election day, and it would be the BEST time, for them to shoot their mouths off, and shoot us at the polls, nationwide, at a time, where EVERY DEMOCRATIC VOTE MUST BE PROTECTED.
We must be vigilant, let our people know, that we will be closely monitoring this hearing, and what comes out of it. Any anti-civil liberty B.S. will NOT be tolerated.
I got to head out for work, I will be back later..Possibly.. if not today, tomorrow, with anymore information I may have..The rest of you chime in with your thoughts.
