Mother pulls gun on volleyball team members after their victory
SAN ANTONIO -- Judson ISD police are busy searching for a woman who threatened students with a gun on Thursday night.

The district's director of public information, James Keith, says the incident happened around 7:15 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of the Metzger Middle School on Binz Engleman.

Witnesses said a woman pulled a gun and threatened to shoot members of the Kirby Middle School seventh-grade volleyball team.

The Kirby team had just won a game against Metzger. The woman approached the team as they were making their way toward the team bus.

Witnesses believe the woman is a Metzger Middle School parent. She was seen leaving the school in a maroon-colored car.

Hope they find her and take away her gun, plus frog march her to jail.

1. Threatening with a gun is assault. So she should be arrested and charged.

There is not a single gun rights advocate on this forum who would agree with the sentiments expressed in posts 2-5.

As usual, the raging dishonesty of the pro "control" contingent is unembarrassed -- and on full display.

12. The problem like many of these things is that someone has to get hurt or almost hurt
before you find out there is a nut case running loose with a gun. That proves my point that there are lots of nut cases running around carrying guns and it is just a matter of time until they hurt someone. These nut cases are carrying guns in church, libraries, schools, national parks and yet gun carrying advocates see no reason to restrict where guns can be carried. I can't figure it out.

Now don't send me to some statistics to prove a point. Logic is on my side.

16. Sadly, logic is most certainly NOT on your side.

W/regard to your tired/inane "It's only a matter of time" meme ----- logic is clearly not on your side.

With decades of experience with concealed carry to observe, the facts are in -- and they most assuredly do not support your case.

Your "case" is not just childish -- it is infantile.

Try this on your "logic:" Nutcases with guns are running around everywhere, laws or not. Your "restrictions" will restrict nothing.

You treat logic as if it were a flag with which to wrap yourself!

40. That isn't how logic works.
Logic would dictate that in the face of superior proof, like statistics, mere inferences and expectations would be discounted, and empirical truth embraced.

44. Here is that Orwell quote. I suspect it will cause a change in a certain .sig line:
http://www.orwelltoday.com/readerriflequote.shtml

....Bernard Crick in his book "George Orwell A Life" has the following quote in Chapter 12 The Challenge and Frustration of war (1939-41).

"Even as it stands, the Home Guard could only exist in a country where men feel themselves free. The totalitarian states can do great things, but there is one thing they cannot do: they cannot give the factory-worker a rifle and tell him to take it home and keep it in his bedroom. THAT RIFLE HANGING ON THE WALL OF THE WORKING-CLASS FLAT OR LABOURER'S COTTAGE, IS THE SYMBOL OF DEMOCRACY. IT IS OUR JOB TO SEE THAT IT STAYS THERE."

Crick correctly attributes the quote to an 8 January 1941 article Orwell wrote for Evening Standard. The article was titled "Don't Let Colonel Blimp Ruin the Home Guard"....

The mother of a Metzger Middle School volleyball player admitted to a post-game altercation with the opposing team Thursday night but told police there was no gun involved.

“She said she did not use a gun, and that she waved her finger,” Judson Independent School District spokesman James Keith said Friday.

SAN ANTONIO — A Texas mother who witnesses said pulled a gun on a seventh-grade volleyball team says she merely waived her finger and never threatened the players.

A Judson school district spokesman said Friday that the woman told authorities her version of what happened after Thursday night's game.

Spokesman James Keith also said "inconsistencies are starting to pop up" after police re-interviewed witnesses who first alleged that the woman threatened the students with a gun after they soundly beat her daughter's team.

Keith said no gun was found after a search of the woman's home. He said she'll likely face no criminal charges but is barred from the school for a year.

http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/education/accused_gun_mom_there_was_no_gun_102636289.html

....The woman admitted she engaged in a yelling match with members of the Kirby team after their lopsided win but insisted she did not brandish a gun because she does not own one, he said.

“She said she did not use a gun, and that she waved her finger,” Keith said.

Friday, she consented to a search of her home and vehicle, and no gun was found, he said.

After re-interviewing the witnesses Friday, school district police said their accounts did not match up, Keith said. He declined to elaborate.

49. Speaking as someone who used to work for a prosecutor...
...specifically, the Prosecutor of the UN International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, witnesses suck. Human memory is extremely fallible, and that's if they aren't sexing up or completely fabricating their stories to begin with. Bluntly, in my view, witness statements (including victim statements) should be considered circumstantial evidence at best unless corroborated by physical evidence.

Let me put it this way: if you have six (or eight, or twenty) people who say they witnessed guy A beating up guy B, but you can see that guy B hasn't got any marks except perhaps some scrapes and bruises that you might incur bumping into furniture, are you going to believe those six (or eight or twenty) people, or conclude that they're lying?

As it turns out if the lying little twits who told the law she was wildly waving a gun around had gotten the timely response of the Las Vegas PD she'd be dead, shot in the back 5 times.

Likely to the cheers of the same bunch who were gleeful over the Costco shooting. Or those who claim since no gun was on the surveillance video, or her home and car were searched by the police that she threw into the ditch with OJ's knife......

57. the hate for gun owners reminds me of...
other forms of hate and fear promoted by ignorance and bigotry in the past.

So a bunch of gun prohibitionists pull out a story that lies about the use of a gun involving a volleyball team, then they use this lie to put down gun owners and make their anti-gun comments all based on a fake gun story. I wonder if someone ever did this sort of thing when they were trying to outlaw alcohol, dildos, porn and even sex and kissing in public.
