1. Ha! Brilliant...
Grasping at straws now... That one sign alone blew about 64.3% of their annual donations.

I hope it was worth it.

2. LOL, I don't think they thought that one through did they? I wonder if
on the next sign they would list all the other states CCL's that are accepted in Florida. Doubt it, but it would make a good PSA.

That billboard will be so effective Paul, you should get another one!!.... O My, I see you CAN"T afford another!!

They truly are grasping at straws, and just the fact that they THINK that sign will effect anything at all, if anything, it serves fair warning to criminals coming into the state, and re-assures law abiding folks that THEY can, defend themselves!!

EDIT: I wonder if the NRA Mole, Mary McFate, had a hand in this when it first cropped up 5 years ago???? ROFLMAO, if she did, she PWNED them but GOOD!!

4. I picture another sign right next to it:

IN OTHER WORDS, ASSAULT A FLORIDIAN AT YOUR OWN EXTREME RISK.

5. Morons. The Brady Bunch is self-destructing.
It's almost fun to watch.

10. Almost fun in a strange sort of way.

I was channel surfing today on the vidiot and stumbled onto MSNBC's pathetic, emotion-based hit piece "Locked and Loaded --- Kids and Guns". CLICK! No need to see this spew again. A few clicks later I arrive at "Conceal & Carry School" on Spike TV. So obviously MSNBC was doing what it does best on the subject of gun "control" -- flailing and failing. Their feeble attempt at pushback against a regularly scheduled pro gun rights program left me with the same odd emotional combination of laughter and face-to-palm.

6. As a Floridian, I personally want to thank the Brady Campaign...
for posting such signs.

The signs do warn the criminals looking to do a little side work during their vacation that Florida is far more gun friendly than Chicago or NYC.

The signs don't seem to deter tourists from visiting the state. The BP oil spill hurt the tourist business far more than the Brady Campaign, but now that the oil has "disappeared", the snow birds will probably come flocking down to our attractions this winter.

7. I remember when that sign was put up right after Florida's socalled "Stand Your Ground Laws"

went into effect.

There really haven't been that many problems associated with the law (or others like in other states). It was not the beginning of the end of days as some lamented.

11. But isn't the same true of Georgia and Alabama residents?
so you've already been in at least a couple hours of danger already by the time you see this sign!

15. I've seen this before, and have always puzzled over it...
I speculate the Brady Campaign thought there was mass, wide-spread agreement on a culture wherein self-defense was frowned upon. Clearly, the Bradys were wrong, but where did this notion originate? I think it is a miss-reading of political non-violence (i.e., as a strategy), conflating it to a personal lifestyle in the face of any threat. Gandhi espoused the idea that attackers should be resisted without hurting the attacker; but even here, the attacker is to be resisted. Gandhi also recognized that comparatively few people would live his personal credo, so he advocated violent resistance to an attacker if necessary. Above all, he did NOT advocate standing idly by, an "action" he called cowardice.

The notion of self-defense is deeply embedded in U.S. society. The sign merely re-states the obvious.
