Kansans back two amendments (Gun ownership ok now for any lawful purpose)
An amendment to the Kansas Constitution that was drafted to declare a person's right to own guns for any lawful purpose was approved overwhelming by voters in Tuesday's election, while an amendment to end the Legislature's authority to deny people with mental illness from voting seemed to be on its way to being passed by a narrower margin.

With 2,291 of 3,315 precincts reporting, Amendment 1, the gun rights measure, had received 569,876 "yes" votes to 77,520 "no" votes. Amendment 2, regarding voting rights of those with mental illness, had garnered 397,656 "yes" votes to 240,899 "no" votes.

Simple majorities are required to change the Kansas Constitution, which was originally adopted by voters in 1859.

1. Good for them, it could be said that a vote on a ballot is rarely
dangerous, but then I don't know what to make of the 20% of Americans who think Obama is a Muslim.

2. Fuck you
to the 240,899 people that voted "no" on amendment #2.

Sincerely,

3. In 1838 Florida's Constitution said, "That the free white men of this State ...
shall have a right to keep and to bear arms for their common defence."
http://www.law.ucla.edu/volokh/beararms/statedat.htm

Today it says,

SECTION 8. Right to bear arms.--

(a) The right of the people to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves and of the lawful authority of the state shall not be infringed, except that the manner of bearing arms may be regulated by law.

Which does point out the racist roots of gun control.
