So, how *did* Democrats endorsed by the NRA do?
3/4 or so lost, 1/4 won- some were tight races, and the endorsement might have helped:

The list, probably incomplete, as discussed here previously:

1. Did the NRA give money or spend any money on even one of

2. No. They spent it on Republicans. The rest is held to defeat Democrats and Obama in 2012.

Why the NRA is rallying behind endangered Democrats
By Gail Russell Chaddock, Staff writer / October 8, 2010

The National Rifle Association – one of the top all-time donors to Republican candidates – is backing some of the most embattled House Democrats in Election 2010.

Since 1989, NRA financial support has gone overwhelmingly to Republicans, who have picked up 85 percent of campaign contributions from the gun industry in the last 20 years. But contributions are shifting. Campaign contributions from gun rights groups to Democratic congressional candidates jumped from 12 percent in the 2008 campaign cycle to 20 percent for this year's election. emphasis added

They spent millions on Republicans and thousands on Blue Dogs. Now the Blue Dogs are Dead, which was expected.

The NRA is free to go back to normal:

3. It blows my mind that anyone is still falling for the old story
that "Dems are going to take away your guns"! I'm 67 and when I was dating my husband back in 1059 my future FIL was convinced the Dems were going to take his guns, AND he needed them to fight off an oppressive gov't! I talked to my hubby about this and I said "Has anyone ever taken away anyone's guns? He said o. I asked him where the hell did this fable come from but he didn't know either. It's been around long enugh to be dead already! But there are a lot of very maliable individuals out there who still believe it!

15. Of coarse you know that there are those both
in the Dem party and the Reps who wish to impose restrictions and bans on various types of currently available firearms, no? Do you also realize that the silly, antiquated language calling for an assault weapons ban is still in the Dem platform? That the same type of language has been thrown around by administration officials and has been part of Obama's campaign promises? Why must 2nd Amendment issues always be framed as the "nobody's going to take your guns" nonsense? The question is is someone going to attempt to push through unwanted restrictions? Certainly you aren't actually saying, 'nobody wants to impose additional restrictions', are you?

19. The 1994 Feinstein ban certainly didn't help things...
nor did the far more draconian (and ultimately confiscatory) "Brady II" bill proposed earlier that year, or that have been proposed since (Google H.R.1022, for example).

The authoritarians who run the Brady Campaign/VPC, and the Third Way types who cater to them, do indeed want to ban the most popular guns in the United States---"assault weapons", "nonsporting" handguns, and so on. The DLC's "assault weapon" fraud is unfortunately still in the party platform.

28. Check out the Democratic Party Platform about gun-control proposals...
and President Obama's record. And AG Holder's recent (last year) call for renewal of the "assault weapons ban."

It would be mind-blowing if we Democrats got rid of the gun-ban platform plank, and just dropped the issue altogether, don't you think?

The NRA endorsement helped if the Republican had a lesser rating, but if the Republican also had an A, then it was a wash.
