Ohio man shoots self in foot
Firearm deer season has just begun and there's been an gun related injury already reported. An Ohio man had a gun shot injury to his right foot when visiting Bates Township.

Douglas Shelia, 67, of Chardon, Ohio, sustained an accidental self-inflicted gun shot wound from a 30.06 caliber rifle. The accident occurred off Little Finland Road, according to the Iron County Sheriff's Department.

Shelia was immediately transported by friends to the Northstar Hospital Emergency Room, where he was treated for a non life-threatening "through and through" rifle wound to his right foot. He is expected to make a full recovery.

7. So would you care to elaborate on which part of a guy shooting himself in the foot is "good"?

Because I, and other inquiring minds, would certainly like to know.

I'll be waiting with bated breath...

13. exactly, nothing wrong with you, you are a normally functioning anti-gun individual.
I'm sure it would bring a smile to your face if violent crime increased.

6. I am sure Skittles was referring to, "He is expected to make a full recovery."
Certainly DUers would be cheering bloody accidents happening to innocent people.

Though I suspect that the poster's intention was somewhat less supportive.

3. And your point is?
If you are saying that hunter safety training is a good idea, I agree with you. Such courses are proven to reduce accidents.

17. Wife does e-med and has removed
solid objects like candles, and marbles (which are more expensive than the proper toy so they say, go figure). "i must have sat on it" is universal for the ass. objects in the nose, ears, urethra ( i dont know why i stuck this in my dickhole mam'), etc. get docs around the table with booze and they start trumping stories. It is pretty nasty stuff and goes downhill fast.

Apparently, years ago, the no MRI for inserted objects came up when magnetic "issues" came up when a patient got 3 feet from the loop. Dont remember the rest, thankfully

Someone who went to med school removed this rodent..

Point is this accident has no bearing on amendment 2

11. Should this be posted in the Outdoor Life forum
since it has no relationship to gun laws and politics?

16. wow, just one gun accident today? non fatal?
Unless you can pull out the stories of other accidents today, I can only assume there was one. That would be a huge reduction in gun accident rate.
