The Republicans crushed the president's party in the midterms. Things were going very well for them. But then something strange happened; Obama's approval numbers went up. The economy is threatening to really recover. And "just say no" is not a long term governing strategy, especially when you hold real power.
The future might not be as easy as it appeared in November.
Does anyone else think this is a uniquely opportune time for folks like Dick and Peggy to offer the president some "friendly advice"?
Remember the biblical account of the helpful dietary advice Jesus got in the wilderness? Does anyone else see the similarity?
I fear Obama will take the bait. Hook. Line. And. Sinker.

Don't forget newt allowing the AWB to pass in the 90's, knowing the damage it would do to Democrats.
Benezra knows the story better than I do.

3. History repeats itself. |

Obama knows the history, but it apparently doesn't matter.

2. Heaven forbid anyone should genuinely speak against the merits of guns and ammo. |

4. Hell forbids that Dick should offer Obama honest support to do anything decent. |

Really.
Hell is not playing, either.

We generally prefer to speak of the merits of people and their actions.
Since we are talking about Heaven, remember that Jesus did not rebuke Peter for having the sword, but for using it wrongly.
