2. It's not impossible that a sub-committee of a student senate somewhere will write a vague
and ill-informed resolution condemning the idea and prophesying doom, which will trigger hours of spirited debate among the ~20 or so people who attend student senate meetings... which might - just might - cause the TX Legislature to laugh so hard that they forget to actually pass the bill.

Does that seem like a reasonable possibility?

10. Oh, you mean a bunch of fictional characters are against it?
If you put it that way, where do I sign up?

(Do I really need to use this: :sarcasm: ?)

6. Maybe commonsense has emerged. But, I doubt Tx lawmakers have the guts to take on carriers.

The whine would be disruptive.

7. It's in committee..

Takes a while for them to make sure the proposed legislation doesn't conflict with anything else (remember the legal limbo re 'traveling' in 2005?)

http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/BillLookup/History.aspx?LegSess=82R&Bill=HB86
http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/BillLookup/History.aspx?LegSess=82R&Bill=HB750
http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/BillLookup/History.aspx?LegSess=82R&Bill=HB1167

And to tell the truth, multiple legislators have introduced multiple versions.

The committee is going to have fun with these.

8. Let's hope it stalls there, and gun dealers have to eat their long-horn designer handles.

Wonder if Ralph Lauren is designing Polo handles for the well accesorized student of the 21st century.

9. Doesn't make much sense accesorizing
something to be fashionable if it is going to be concealed under clothing.

11. Not gonna happen.
The parking lot bill and campus carry are as close as anything in Texas politics gets to a 'sure thing'.

16. That could cause an immediate paradigm shift in the political landscape
Offending a key legislators daughter , good God no . Millions of people could change their opinions in an afternoon .
It could be worse than shooting a soon-to-be political rock star " and some other people " . Could be , as
it had little to do with anybody else , and so nobody really gives a fuck, and in fact quite the opposite happened .
Freedoms were restored . That must suck .
