Phoenix Roofer Shot in Back in Argument with Homeowner
A roofer was shot in the back in Phoenix on Thursday during an argument with a homeowner about the quality of roofing work, according to court documents released Friday.

Rafael Sanchez, the 68-year-old homeowner, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to Maricopa County Superior Court documents, Sanchez told police that he had shot the 42-year-old roofer in the back after they argued about the cost and quality of work that the roofer and two other men performed.

Dumbass homeowner - your next roof will be the ceiling of your prison cell.

He is screwed, but I don't have any sympathy for him.

8. It takes much less thinking to do it that way
Some folks seem much more comfortable with that broad stereotype brush in hand.

But I understand their frustration, it's not like the "good old days" for them anymore. They can't make fun of many other ethnic, religious, or other groups the way they used to, but tarring gun owners is still OK for now.

Poor babies.

19. When you are denied a job, can't get into state school, can't vote, etc., I'll listen.

Until then, equating carrying a gun to Jim Crow is . . . . . .well, BS. And it's using a very sad time in our country in an attempt to rationalize our becoming an armed, uncivilized society.

23. What the fuck are you talking about - is your education that bad?
Or are you just exceedingly poor at comprehension? There are all flavors of bigots out there.

Some may not like your color, gender orientation, religion or accent.

But all of them stereotype everyone in a group so they don't have to see them as individuals. Sound familiar sparky?

But acting as some if you're some kind of self actualized, elite intellectual and stereotyping all gun owners, even when you don't know their race, sexual orientation or anything about them (yes, we have a number of minority gun owners that post here and a few gay folks that shoot too - imagine that!) as some kind of knuckle dragging redneck types, as you have done certainly qualifies you for the T-shirt, maybe the cap and sash as well.

If your circle of acquaintances is that dismally small, join a shooting club and try and make a friend or two without offending anyone. You'll meet some really nice folks and learn a sport along with some tolerance. And brother, you really need the practice.

That will be a challenge for you all by itself.

24. I shot some of the finest target weapons every made for many years -- then I grew up.

I'm talking about public carrying of weapons. Gun owners who keep them at home -- and maybe in their car at times -- are not a big concern of mine. Public carrying is. I think it is bad for society and will only lead to more and bigger guns.

As to gun ranges -- too many folks who like blasting away, not target shooting.

27. Well Thank you Mr. Fucking Condescension - Some of my best friends are ...
"I shot some of the finest target weapons every made for many years -- then I grew up."

Sure you did and you are so much a better person than the rest of us thanks to your self defined maturity.

Well, you aren't a shooter and you sure ain't a writer. But I have a pretty good idea what you are anyway.

The usual "I own and shoot guns, but ..." crap. That's the equivalent of "Some of my best friends are ... fill in the blank". Sorry, but we don't legislate on what you "think is bad" or what you feel is right.

More and bigger guns? What is that supposed to mean since the 1934 NFA pretty much defined the limitations? But since you are an experienced shooter I'm sure you already knew that.

Let us know when the wave of violence that you seem to be anticipating from all those guns actually breaks out. About 6 million carriers now and it still ain't happening. 14.2 million guns sold last year alone and still no bloodbath.

Hate to dash your hopes and dreams but it doesn't look good for your side and I'm pretty sure it's gonna look a whole lot worse for a long time to come.

... that have written and passed all those laws permmitting CCW, methinks you are full of it, and have no damned idea what the majority thinks and wants.

There are no signs that any state that has passed CCW is even thinking of restricting it, let alone repealing it. Or perhaps the voices tell you differently?

29. More & bigger?
More? Yes, as more people get their permits there will be more guns being carried.

Bigger? Not likely. Big guns are hard to conceal. The most popular for concealed carry is a .380, like the Ruger LCP or Kel-Tec P3AT.
As you can see it is fairly small and easy to hide.

Also comes in pink

14. Thankfully it's not your choice and there's not much you can do about it
Hmmm, I guess you could stand up for your principles and keep moving to a state that doesn't allow it.

You're down to 2 and that might be shrinking to 1 or even 0 by the end of the year.

But at least you could show some spine and true belief in what you espouse and support the states that forbid evil gun carriers to "pack heat" in the grocery stores and parking lots.

But, sadly, you'll probably just keep whining about it, writing bad stories and laughable posts instead and waiting expectantly for the next high profile shooting to point to with a gleam in your eye.

just like the MAAD people will not get prohibition the anti crowd will find the new balance point on firearms, like alcohol consumption, involves legal carry across 50 states.

The two supreme court cases were the brown vs board and roe for this one.
