ARKANSAS: House passes bill to allow guns in car at work 69-16

The House has passed a bill that would allow holders of concealed weapons permits to keep their weapon out of sight in their parked car while at work.

The bill by Rep. John Catlett of Rover passed Wednesday on a 69-16 vote.

Rep. Keith Ingram of West Memphis argued against the bill and cited an incident at his Cabot business in which an armed employee kept law officers at bay during a 10-hour standoff.

Catlett said the purpose of a concealed weapons permit is to allow citizens to protect themselves. He said if they have to leave their guns at home, they can’t do that. Catlett said the bill would help factory workers on the night shift who want their guns while they travel to and from work.

The bill now goes to the state Senate where passage is expected.

3. YUP, the ones I hear about around here

are the ones where a legal gun owner has as little as 1 spent shell casing in their vehicle and crossing into Mexico get stopped and inspected. For their 1 SPENT shell casing they get 10 years in a Mexican prison.

That's a horror story to me. I never get anywhere near the Mexican port of entry. Have lived a stones throw from Mexico and haven't been there in 25 years.
