A pinko with a gun.
I have a hand gun, and I have a concealed carry permit, anyone else?
Doesn't make me bad does it?? I agree with the AW ban.

4. You get nervous around inanimate objects?
Edited on Tue Mar-02-04 06:06 PM by Columbia
I'd say that <diagnosis prohibited by J/PS rules>.

I'd be happy to take you to a range to rid you of your nervousness. :)

13. I'm a lot more nervous about...
"its stupid people and guns. and tired people and guns. and angry people and guns. and careless people and guns. and drunk people and guns..."

I tell ya, I'm a lot more nervous about stupid people and cars. And tired people and cars. And angry people and cars. And careless people and cars. And drunk people and cars.

But I don't advocate getting rid of cars. I just advocate punishing

stupid
tired
angry
careless
drunk

people who use cars. And guns.

15. Coffee first, guns second?
You have valid concerns about those people, but if you replace guns with things like cars, power tools, knives, etc. you'd have the same concerns.

Again, don't be afraid of the object. It can be used for purposes of good or evil - it all depends on who is holding it. And it's important to ensure that the good people have the ability to use this tool, because we know for damn sure that the evil ones will in spite of the law.

except you may make a few exreme right wingers a wee bit nervous.

And in deference to Lionesspriyanka, anyone else who may doubt your ability to use your gun in a safe and responsible manner.

3. Somebody will be along shortly to call you a racist...

...don't worry about that.

If you carry/own a gun you should look at taking LFI-1
http://weeklywire.com/ww/11-29-99/boston_feature_1.html
- great training - and a real eye-opener.

But can I ask why you're in agreement with the AWB? (cuz that may make you bad;)) Is it because of all the crime that they're supposedly responsible for?

8. Why you ask?
First off, sorry for posting in the wrong area to begin with. IMO AW are meant to kill humans and humans only, and in a very nasty way. Yes, handguns can kill humans also, but they can be used a lot more in a controlled target shoot setting. I use my handgun for plunking at circle targets in controlled ranges only. I use my BB gun for the neighbors cats. Just kidding. I was thinking I was bad cause I was a democrat with a gun permit.

16. Hmmm...
"Yes, handguns can kill humans also, but they can be used a lot more in a controlled target shoot setting. I use my handgun for plunking at circle targets in controlled ranges only."

There is no fundamental difference between a handgun and a rifle. They both fire projectiles downrange at lethal velocities.

Further, a rifle can be used just as much in a controlled target shoot setting as a handgun. Every time I go to the range I bring both my pistols and my rifles.

Yes, assault weapons were designed to kill people easily and quickly. This is why they belong in the hands of the citizens. So that, God forbid, it becomes necessary to kill tyrants, it can be done more easily and quickly. To deny that this possibility exists is to believe that our currently-benign government will forevermore be benign. History shows that this is almost never the case.

18. Many of the mislabeled Assault Weapons on the current list...
Edited on Tue Mar-02-04 07:11 PM by Dolomite
...like the AR-15, the FAL, almost the entire H&K product line - all make simply fantastic target shooting platforms.

In fact, show up at the National Championships at Camp Perry with anything other than a Colt or Bushmaster AR-15 - and you can pretty much kiss good-by your chances of placing anywhere near the top 10.

I personally hunt deer with an FAL and shoot competitively with a DPMS AR.

Edited to add – while there are a few home/self-defense scenarios I can think in which a handgun would be preferable to use over a semi-automatic rifle – I would hate for anyone to limit or handicap themselves from procuring such a weapon as effective, as say an AR, merely based on popular misinformation and mass-media lore regarding their “inherent” evil.

If there's a bunch of pointy-headed guys in white sheets trying to break into your house - a high capacity semi-automatic rifle would offer you far superior protection when compared to any handgun.

Apparently the Pink Pistols are a secret Republican organization for promoting gun rights. They just pretend to be gay or something.
