State Senate to consider concealed carry today
Madison - Wisconsin would become one of the last states to allow people to carry concealed weapons under a measure the state Senate is to take up Tuesday.

The measure would require people to get training and permits to carry concealed weapons, after some Republicans earlier pushed a measure that would let people do so without training or permits.

Wisconsin and Illinois are the only states that have outright bans on carrying concealed weapons. Gun rights advocates for years have pushed allowing concealed weapons in Wisconsin, but they were thwarted by then-Gov. Jim Doyle or Democrats in the Legislature.

Let's hope they get the vote done today.

2. Why should the Democrats taking over matter at all?
It's what the people want. You don't think concealed carry plays a part in the Reps gaining control?

3. Just another regressive measure by the thugs who took over Wisconsin's government.
Hopefully a Democratic comeback will reverse this.

6. Like the Dems in all the blue states with carry licensure?
You might have a point about those Dems in Vermont, though...no carry licensure there. (Since carry doesn't require a license...)

10. Enforcing the aknowledged right to efficient tools for self-defense is "regressive"?
1. I don't think you know what that word means, or how to apply it.

2. Please show where a Democratic-controlled state government has "reversed" something like this....

8. Sadly, with right-wing nutjobs in control of the state, you get right-wing nutjob laws
Overall, this is not as bad as the union busting, but it looks like another victory for the teabaggers.

Hopefully Walker and some state senators will get recalled and Wisconsin can start to undo a lot of the damage done to the state.

9. Someone voted these right wingers into office
Is it because the population of WI is mostly right wing?

Is it because the left has chased the population of the state to the right because of the opposition to some things like gun rights?

I think the population of WI wants concealed carry and the center/left decided to vote Rep because they knew they could get it.

11. How is freedom only a victory for "teabaggers"?
How does this work out to be "damage done to the state"?

12. Are right wing nut jobs in charge of 49 states?
You suggest that only right wing nut jobs wants concealed carry laws passed.

How do you explain the fact that with Wisconsin, 49 states will have CCW laws in place. None of them has even had a serious proposal to repeal them. Is the GOP.Teabaggers running all of those states?

I must have missed the part where Gun Control became an official long held Democratic value?

Perhaps you'd share what passes for your logic on this?
