Memphis police said they arrested a man accused of bringing a gun to a child's birthday party because his children didn't get any cake.

Investigators said Joseph Hayes, 48, shouted at the woman Saturday when his children didn't get any cake or ice cream before going home and returning to the party with what was described as a black handgun, the (Memphis) Commercial Appeal reported Monday.

Police said Hayes lifted his shirt to display the weapon to the woman.

"I ain't scared to go to jail, just take care of my kids," Hayes allegedly told the woman.

Regardless of what some right wing terrorist said on a video, parrotted by poorly written and unresearched scribblings by some guy at Crooks and Liars, which is little more than a left leaning Free Republic, you can not buy a machine gun at a gun show. All sales from FFL holders must have a background check. If the state requires it, private sales also have to have background checks.
