MO man wards off gang of thugs.

This guy rocks...

(video at link)

KANSAS CITY, MO.—
Roger MacBride says that he's used to looking out for trouble in his old Northeast neighborhood. But usually the problems involve prostitutes or drug addicts, and he says that he wasn't ready for what he calls a mob of young troublemakers who threatened his home and family.

Witnesses say that a group of 25 to 30 young teens terrorized the neighborhood on Wednesday. MacBride says that the teens kicked in the door to a neighboring home and broke windows inside. He says when he yelled at the group to get out, they turned on him.

"All of a sudden, this one kid with corn rows comes out and he's like yakety yak, (expletive), da, da, da. He's like we'll kick your (expletive) too you don't (expletive) own this neighborhood, and they are like, literally, 12 of them, start running over here," said MacBride.

MacBride says the teens surrounded his house, picking up rocks and throwing them at him. That's when he says in his eyes, the mob stopped being a bunch of kids and became a big threat. He says the teens were reaching for his door handle when the the sight of his Soviet rifle had an instant reaction.

When a man wearing a towel around his waist, a butchers apron, combat boots and toting a Soviet made WW-II era rifle tells you to move... you better fucking move.

Doesn't he listen to Neal Boortz?

This town is starting to look like a garbage heap. And we got too damn many urban thugs, yo, ruining the quality of life for everybody. And I'll tell you what it's gonna take. You people, you are - you need to have a gun. You need to have training. You need to know how to use that gun. You need to get a permit to carry that gun. And you do in fact need to carry that gun and we need to see some dead thugs littering the landscape in Atlanta. We need to see the next guy that tries to carjack you shot dead right where he stands. We need more dead thugs in this city. And let their -- let their mommas -- let their mommas say, "He was a good boy. He just fell in with the good crowd." And then lock her ass up.

23. lol, you really just don't get it, do you?
You can't handle somebody making one point without then setting up a straw man, can you? I didn't say that I would CLEARLY shoot a kid throwing rocks. I was making a point that even in your example the kid could actually do serious harm, and depending on the severity of the situation, lethal force may be justified.

Your mindset reminds me of a schools "zero tolerance" policy that doesn't see a difference between cocaine and aspirin. You just seem to view things as black and white, never able to see the massive gray area in the middle.

25. Oh yes, we just LOVE to shoot children.
I mean seriously, do you actually READ what you are saying and see how disgusting it really is?

A 16 year old that is behaving in a manner that could lead to serious injury and possibly death for another may require lethal force to stop. It's not anything any sane person would enjoy, but it is a reality.

And seriously, stop trying to latch on to quotes from individuals and using them to paint an entire community with a broad brush. It just underscores how weak your own position is that you feel the need to resort to such idiocy.

27. Sometimes such actions are justified.
Other times they are not. As I said earlier, you are incapable of understanding this, hence the "Zero tolerance" reference.

A rational person takes each situation one at a time and attempts to work out if a persons actions may have been justified by the situation or not. You seem incapable of understanding this.

39. That depends.
I would have a to say no, a rock is not a lethal weapon. After all, God created all things and in Deuteronomy prescribed stoning for heretics. Since "stones" were "designed to kill" only stones are "lethal weapons". Rocks are just rocks. ;)

only some are specifically designed to be. Like guns. They are designed to be lethal. You can use them for target practice or wear them as fashion accessories, but their purpose remains the same.

50. If they can be tried as adults and capable of violent behavior than you can defend yourself against
them is if they are adults and in many cultures a 15 or 16 year old is an adult. There does not need to be a change in how you go about defending against young thugs, you show the gun, most often they will leave (and no revenge will occur) and if they decide to attack then it gets more complicated.

Antis don't care about the life of a young thug, they try to gain moral credit out of it by claiming you are a monster for being willing to defend yourself. The antis would make the act of display of the firearm illegal which would likely save lives. If I had to wait until I was certain that I had to use my gun before showing it, the thugs might not get a chance to decide to leave before I light them up. Antis don't care about saving lives, they only hate guns and gun owners. If they cared about lives they would promote the early display of a gun as a means to avoid a conflict.

Lethal weapon? Hah! Lets compare stone deaths in the last year to gun deaths in the last year. By your definition of "lethal weapon" a toothbush is a lethal weapon and you should shoot kids throwing toothbrushes.

Just repulsive reasoning, exactly what I come to expect.

58. Actually...
...toothbrushes have had their handles sharpened in order to turn them into weapons by some, but that is really beside the point.

Nobody is advocating just randomly shooting kids if they happen to be holding a rock. But there is a difference from a person who has a rock and a person who is attempting to use said rock to inflict potentially serious bodily harm on yourself or another. Many every day objects can be used with lethal intent. A rational person is capable of viewing use of such objects in context and not make blanket judgments from the start as you are.

Honestly, I think you are being extremely obtuse right now. You've had your reasoning called out and shown to be flawed, but instead of admitting this and moving on, you continue to dig a deeper and deeper hole, becoming all the more insulting in the process.

Once it arrives... be sure to send copies of it to Brownells, Midway USA (or any other vendor that offers FFL discounts).

To be perfectly honest... that was the primary reason I applied for my C&R to begin with.

I've only purchased 3 firearms with it, but if you purchase any after market parts, supplies, etc... you'll probably recover the cost of the license

in your first order.

Now I just hope I didn't mess up anything on the paperwork that will delay things!
