Taney County Homeowner Shoots Intruder

Two suspects in a midday shooting in downtown Powersite are in custody. One of them is in the hospital after he was shot by a homeowner.

The Taney County Sheriff says a woman came home to find an armed intruder in her house. The homeowner has a conceal carry permit. She told deputies the man also had a gun and threatened to shoot so she fired first.

The man fled in a pickup which had been stolen from Harrison, Arkansas. Deputies arrested him about a half mile away. He's being treated at a Springfield hospital for a chest wound.

Darn castle law--people just taking their self-defense into their own hands. She should have called for the cops rather than pulling out a dangerous weapon, which she shouldn't even be allowed to own.

It's stupid commentary EVERY TIME someone says on this forum that law-abiding citizens shouldn't be allowed to own guns, that all guns should be banned, that the police should be the only ones armed and charged with our protection. You are 100% correct--it is stupid, stupid commentary.

8. I missed the part of the story where she wound up shooting her husband

and herself instead. Everybody knows gun owners are too stupid and clumsy to shoot the bad guys. I'm surprised she didn't hit some innocent child half a mile down the road.
