Man accused of pointing shotgun at tenant

A 75-year-old Moorhead man is accused of threatening and pointing a shotgun at a tenant who lives below him on Sunday, police said.

James Van Raden, 75, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault with a firearm and felony terroristic threats, Lt. Tory Jacobson said.

Police received a complaint at 9:22 a.m. Sunday from a 28-year-old tenant who said his landlord had pointed a shotgun at him and threatened him, Jacobson said.

Officers arrived at 525 Caddy Avenue and arrested Van Raden, who has an ongoing dispute with tenants who live below him in the rambler-style home he owns, Jacobson said.
