Motorist draws charge for cache of fake firearms

Robert B. McManus, 25, of Riegelsville, Pa., is charged with possession of imitation firearms, a fourth-degree criminal offense, police report.

Further investigation showed the gun is an imitation firearm used to fire pellets and paintballs.

Police allegedly found an imitation Remington Model 700 sniper rifle with an imitation silencer, an imitation M-16 rifle, an imitation Beretta .9-mm handgun, another imitation machine gun and an imitation hand grenade.

Police said the charge is mainly based on the allegation that McManus did not put one of the guns in a case and it was within his reach during the traffic stop.

The threat posed by several airsoft guns is huge. The worst that could have happened, is this yahoo points one at the cop during the traffic stop, then he gets ventilated by the cop. i.e. his own damn fault.

So the illegal part of all this is that he didn't case his airsoft/paintball guns? And he got charged for the guns that were cased?

What will happen next, some kid gets busted for having an uncased baseball that is roughly the size and shape of a frag grenade?

Seriously though, what kind of ninnies are running that place? In many free states one can have a real loaded gun front seat without a permit, as long as its not concealed.

11. This brings to mind

the guy who claimed it was easy to buy a grenade launcher in the United States and linked us to an airsoft site while recommending we try to buy one using fake info to see how easy it is. This isn't as funny though, since the guy is probably going to go to jail.
