2. I wonder if they are allowing multiple votes...
I suspect this one is getting lots of NRA action (including from some of our own).

13. Since when has anyone advised DUers to vote multiple times?.
Edited on Sun Sep-04-11 07:09 PM by hlthe2b
I've been here since the inauguration, 2001 and have never seen anyone suggest doing so. "DUing" means going over there and voting once. Unless it means differently to YOU. (!) But, please show me one instance where someone (other than you) has suggested our own do so.

But, yes, FR and others do try to vote multiple times when the polls let them. It is a desperate tactic that those exceedingly agenda-driven on a single issue often get their sheeple to do.

that would hit that poll multiple times.

multiple votes. I believe this issue shouldn't be voted on by anyone outside Gabrielle's district.

5. It's in extremely poor taste
Am I offended? Not particularly, but I shook my head when I read that headline a few days ago. Much like the whole repub debate/Presidential speech scheduling thing, you have to wonder if someone was just so ignorant that they entirely missed the connection, or if they're trying to send some kind of message that leaves most people grimacing.

There are endless numbers of items that could be raffled; choosing that one shows a decided lack of class.

leading with 47%..

Easier to make them here than import them.

27. I'm pretty sure that Glocks are made in Austria and imported by a GA company.
If it were "easier to make them here" then we would be able to buy the Glock 28 (.380 subcompact) - because it would be made in america. As it is, the .380 glocks to not get enough ATF "import points" (it's too small/light) to be made available in the US. Now, Glock USA does indeed finish the final assembly here in the US. To meet the ATF import-points, all glocks are imported with a few extra (less evil) features and those parts are replaced at american facilities after import.

Plus all my Glocks have "Austria" printed on the side. I think that definitely means the frames and slides came from Austria.

17. About the money that the guy found.
What would folks here do?

I would inspect it for counterfeit, wait awhile, then and use cash for grocery and gas purchases and other stuff like that. I would continue with my job and let my paychecks accumulate at the bank and pay off all debts, then invest them.

That was drug money I'm sure. Of course the bad thing is the druggies are not likely to just write off 150 large.

21. It would depend upon how old the money was.
If it was recently hidden - call the cops and don't mess with it. From the story I am concluding that it was hidden a long time ago since he dug it up in his garden. In that case there probably won't be anybody come looking for it.

recently. He turned it in and if no one claims it in a period of time, the cops say they will help him keep it.

If it was just thrown there then somebody knows where they threw it and the reason likely isn't a good one.

That would depend on the gun? Anything less that a top-of-the-line centerfire would be offensive, yes.

34. IMHO
Top of the line is FN, Walther, and maybe CZ for self loaders. I would put Glock as second to the top, but everybody has one.
Ruger and Colt for SA revolvers
Smith and Wesson and Ruger for DA revolvers

It is now the Czech Republic. They are good pistols. They still use all steel construction at a reasonable price. I didn't say I would raffle one off.

38. Agree
I'm not familiar with their pistols because getting a pistol (or any semi-auto) license in Australia is VERY difficult. But, they make a very decent bolt-action hunting rifle for the money.

39. They make some great pistols, especially the single actions.
most of thier pistols are DA/SA, but the Single action only pistols have a 1911-like trigger feel with all the modern features like double stack mags, low bore height, and decocker safeties. Alot of USPSA competition shooters use them because the sigle action and target triggers are sweet. They make a few 20 round competition pistols too.

If I ever buy anther pistol, it'd be a .40s&W CZ-75B SA

My first handgun cert was on the 1911... a very likeable weapon that if you ever ran out of ammo would double as a heavy bludgeon for melee fighting.
