Totally irresponsible on the part of the ATF.

1. Old news.

This is old, old news, and has been discussed here many times, and there have already been shakeups at the BATFE over it, and there will probably be more.

Not only is the F&F fiasco happening along the Mexico border, but there have been similar programs in Florida and Indiana that are coming to light, as well as hinted CIA involvement in an attempt to arm drug cartels rival to the Zetas, in an attempt to keep the Zetas from actually taking over positions in the Mexican government.

2. This scandal just keeps growing day by day ...

And what amazes me is how those who favor extremely restrictive gun law totally ignore this scandal.

It would seem that they would be as upset with this situation as the people who support RKBA. Unfortunately, one of the leading gun control organizations, The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, doesn't even mention ATF's "Fast and Furious" operation on their home page while they call for stricter law to prevent the smuggling of firearms to Mexico. http://www.bradycampaign.org/

For some reason this hypocrisy from the Brady Campaign and others reminds me of a little soapstone statue that my mother owned and was a carving of three wise monkeys.

Sometimes there is a fourth monkey depicted with the three others; the last one, Shizaru, symbolizes the principle of "do no evil". He may be shown crossing his arms.

There are various meanings ascribed to the monkeys and the proverb including associations with being of good mind, speech and action. In the Western world the phrase is often used to refer to those who deal with impropriety by looking the other way, refusing to acknowledge it, or feigning ignorance....emphasis added
