And what amazes me is how those who favor extremely restrictive gun law totally ignore this scandal.
It would seem that they would be as upset with this situation as the people who support RKBA. Unfortunately, one of the leading gun control organizations, The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, doesn't even mention ATF's "Fast and Furious" operation on their home page while they call for stricter law to prevent the smuggling of firearms to Mexico.
http://www.bradycampaign.org/For some reason this hypocrisy from the Brady Campaign and others reminds me of a little soapstone statue that my mother owned and was a carving of three wise monkeys.
Three wise monkeysThe three wise monkeys over the Tōshō-gū shrine in Nikkō, JapanThe Three Wise Monkeys (Japanese: 三猿, san'en or sanzaru, or 三匹の猿, sanbiki no saru, literally "three monkeys"), sometimes called the Three Mystic Apes,<1> are a pictorial maxim. Together they embody the proverbial principle to "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". The three monkeys are Mizaru, covering his eyes, who sees no evil; Kikazaru, covering his ears, who hears no evil; and Iwazaru, covering his mouth, who speaks no evil. Sometimes there is a fourth monkey depicted with the three others; the last one, Shizaru, symbolizes the principle of "do no evil". He may be shown crossing his arms.
There are various meanings ascribed to the monkeys and the proverb including associations with being of good mind, speech and action.
In the Western world the phrase is often used to refer to those who deal with impropriety by looking the other way, refusing to acknowledge it, or feigning ignorance....emphasis addedhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_wise_monkeys
