Happy Constitution Day!
Today we observe the signing of the US Constitution. Happy Constitution Day! Celebrate by exercising your Constitutional right of choice!

I think a trip to the shooting range might be in order!

7. We cooked them for breakfast in Florida, different in Texas...
Growing up in Gainesville, we got lots of dove and some quail (back when they were around). After seasoning and dipping into flour, we browned them thoroughly in a big cast iron skillet (thin layer of med-hot oil); then poured off the oil, cut the heat back, added some milk, scraped under the birds and put a lid on the whole business. After several minutes, lid off, milk has reduced, then roll em around enough to let them brown again. Served with grits and a big pot of hot tea. Cooked the legs, too. "Cracker cuisine!"

13. Gotta wait until payday. I've got to see if that red-dot scope I bought works properly
You know the red dot scope? Rumor has it I can drop a chipmunk at 2,000 yards with it. ;-)

Anyway, it began cutting out at the range the first time I used it. Bad battery connection. I think I fixed it, but I won't know until I actually try it out.

Then I'll get some quality Second Amendment time in. After, of course, I exercise that right by shooting anybody that looks at me funny, or being judge, jury, and executioner on anybody who steals my Slurpee.

Mental note: pick up an "assault magazine" for my Ruger 10/22.

17. A trip to the range, indeed-
Californians celebrated Constitution and Citizenship Day weekend by organizing a rifle shooting and American Revolutionary War history event.

Project Appleseed's Costitution Day shoot drew over 150 shooters from all over southern CA.

People learned how to safely and correctly use a rifle, plus they heard the life stories of American patriots such as John Parker, Isaac and Hanna Davis, and Mother Batherick.

Rifles, gun store coupons, knives and t shirts were raffled- including Ruger and Marlin 22s and an M1 Garand.

That's what Californians did to celebrate Constitution Day.

PS- What is the level of Constititional literacy in your family? There's a board game which can help out:
http://www.constitutionquestgame.com/Home.html

It is an understatement to say that the Constitition is unfamiliar to the voting public.
