Misguided elderly woman buys gun after attack.
Becomes rude toter vigilante cowboy wannabe with one gun strapped to her body.

http://www.wistv.com/story/13280110/if-he-comes-after-me-again-im-going-to-shoot-him

Even though her physical wounds have healed, Christine has a painful memory to deal with, "I think about it a lot, but I am a very strong person, I'm not going to let this dictate my life, but it has changed my life," she said.

She says if her attacker comes back, instead of him looking down on her, he'll be looking into her barrel. "If anyone tries to do this to me again I will shoot them, no bones about it I will shoot them."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We know this woman is out for revenge, just looking to play cowgirl, should the elderly vigilante rule be applied here? Shouldn't there be a law against victims acquiring guns after an attack/robbery?
34. Stick around & read posts like "what's your 'go to' gun in natural disasters like Hurricane Irene?"
Edited on Fri Oct-07-11 01:39 PM by Hoyt
Those that respond to such threads like to call themselves "progressives." I never thought of preparing to shoot fleeing victims of a natural disaster such as Irene, Katrina, etc., a progressive idea. But apparently some here do.
Then you get "serious" questions from the pro-guns-in-public "culture" like -- "What's wrong carrying a gun or two into a public park, on public streets, into churches and restaurants, and the like?"
It's an interesting forum, with some really unique views on our society in the 21st Century.
39. This is the place to be if you want to see the face of...
raw prohibitionism -- sort of like what Ken Burns' documentary "Prohibition" revealed -- and cultural and regional bigotry. I have never been in a forum which regularly holds in ill repute some 80,000,000+ Americans.
"Rude toters" is a character. So is another who thinks some of the above millions are always "strapping on one or two." Then there are those who bristle as source citation which includes Fox, but have no problem using Brady Center data (an organization founded and led to this very day by GOPers). And of course the endless discussion about penis length or the lack thereof, and its relationship to gun "toting."
Quite a good show, coming from a "progressive" web site.
9. Actually no.
Private firearms for self defense is a Conservative value is not a very good thing for women because by the time they find the gun in their purse, they've already been assaulted and the assaulter is long gone, usually with their victim's gun.
Self Defense for individuals by the individual is clearly progressive.
Your assumption of CCW only in a purse is silly and ignores many other scenarios.
Hand guns are the problem. More hand guns are not the answer. The more legal hand guns there are, the more hand guns the bad guys have access to. That is a fact.
I'm considered the bad guy...I mean, I know some people here consider anyone with a gun the bad guy, some even consider any gun owner either a criminal or a soon to be criminal. Some consider anyone that's willing to fight and not bend over, the bad guy...Criminals are the problem, society needs to make itself less inviting to the bad elements that walk the streets. To some this woman is just an elderly old bat with a gun, someone that should be disarmed. Some want her to armor up and fight the good fight.
as she walks anywhere that is dangerous.
Then if she is attacked she simply points the purse at the attacker and shoots through it.
Actually, gun-control didn't even make it into the Democratic Party Platform until some years after the Zombies charted. And just how progressive is it to proscribe what is "good" or "not good" for women? Who are you?
20. She should have just accepted her beating and given the theif what he wanted!
Come on, ileus, aren't you keeping up with the memos?
Ms. Hollar should not have fought back. She should have just given the armed criminal her purse and submitted to the beating he gave her and been thankful to come out of it all with her life.
Doesn't Ms. Hollar know that the contents of her purse are not worth anyone's life? What's a little beating compared to that misunderstood, pistol-wielding attacker's life?
Ms. Hollar has learned her lesson the hard way. Without a gun, when confronted with a violent attacker you only have three choices: Run, submit, or engage in a physical contest of strength with your attacker.
I guess Ms. Hollar has decided submission is hard on the face.
