Fast and Furious weapons were found in Mexico cartel enforcer's home

By Richard A. Serrano, Washington Bureau
October 8, 2011, 8:46 p.m.
Reporting from Washington— High-powered assault weapons illegally purchased under the ATF's Fast and Furious program in Phoenix ended up in a home belonging to the purported top Sinaloa cartel enforcer in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, whose organization was terrorizing that city with the worst violence in the Mexican drug wars.

In all, 100 assault weapons acquired under Fast and Furious were transported 350 miles from Phoenix to El Paso, making that West Texas city a central hub for gun traffickers. Forty of the weapons made it across the border and into the arsenal of Jose Antonio Torres Marrufo, a feared cartel leader in Ciudad Juarez, according to federal court records and trace documents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The smugglers' tactics — quickly moving the weapons far from ATF agents in southern Arizona, where it had been assumed they would circulate — vividly demonstrate that what had been viewed as a local problem was much larger. Six other Fast and Furious guns destined for El Paso were recovered in Columbus, N.M.

"These Fast and Furious guns were going to Sinaloans, and they are killing everyone down there," said one knowledgeable U.S. government source, who asked for anonymity because of the ongoing investigations. "But that's only how many we know came through Texas. Hundreds more had to get through."

1. I live in El Paso and didn't see ANY of them on the streets here.
I wish I had, it would have been nice to pick up a few AK47s for my arsenal, I don't own any.

3. So, how about we stop selling guns to the freaking cartels?
What kind of short bus riding, window licking, drool bib wearing simpleton decided that it would be a good thing to sell weapons and then smuggle them south of the border with the aid of the the US fucking Governement? I'd also like to know what drooling moron decided to KEEP selling weapons to Mexican cartels, and I'd like the ears and balls of the fuckstick who decided that they could cover up their monumental fuckup by blaming lawful US gun owners.

Fucking assholes. Oh, and I'll bet it's easier for them to steal those Barrett rifles from the Mexican army than it is to try and sneak a 4 and a half foot long, 35 pound rifle south across the border.

They have fucking PLENTY already down there.

6. It is already too late for the F & F guns. They have been spread all around Mexico by now.
No matter what our gov't or Mexico's does, those guns will now be showing up at crime scenes for many years. Each one will be a reminder of this fiasco, at least until the media gets tired of the story and stops reporting on it. Many people in our government need to be wearing orange jumpsuits for this. Don't forget 200 dead Mexican citizens. It wasn't just the two U.S. Federal agents who were murdered with these guns. The idiotic Fast and Furious operation led directly to these deaths, and someone needs to answer for it, however high up they are.

8. This corroborates the testimony from the "CIA insider"
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/aug/11/was-cia-behind-operation-fast-and-furious

"In an effort to prevent a Los Zetas takeover, Uncle Sam has gotten into bed with the rival Sinaloa cartel, which has close ties to the Mexican military. Recent court filings by former Sinaloa cartel member Jesus Vicente Zambada Niebla, currently in U.S. custody, reveal that the United States allowed the Sinaloas to fly a 747 cargo plane packed with cocaine into American airspace - unmolested."

...

"According to a CIA insider, the agency had a strong hand in creating, orchestrating and exploiting Operation Fast and Furious."

Now we have concrete evidence of gun-walker firearms ending up in the hands of the Sinaloa cartel.
