ABC: "Fast Furious" gets President Obama's attention...
Last night on ABC, President Obama said he will see to it that the people who "screwed up will be held accountable."

"Our overarching goal consistently has been to say we've got a responsibility not only to stop drugs from flowing north, we've also got a responsibility to make sure we are not helping to either arm or finance these drug cartels in Mexico," Obama said in an interview with ABC News senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper that will air Tuesday night on "Nightline."

"It's very upsetting to me to think that somebody showed such bad judgment that they would allow something like that to happen," he said. "And we will find out who and what happened in this situation and make sure it gets corrected."

Obama continued to express complete confidence in Attorney General Holder, and gave no specifics as to what steps he would take in achieving his goals.

1.  "the people who "screwed up will be held accountable."
Does that mean the whisleblowers? Are they the ones going to be "held accountable"?

2. Most often whistleblowers are the low-hanging fruit...
And we can be assured that when whistleblowers are punished, it will be done in public, for obvious reasons.

4. Hopefully, the low-hangers will resent their civic duty, and talk even more.

5. Good. About time!
And he should totally support the investigation and require anybody in his administration to do the same.

If and when the investigation shows the same activity was happening under the Bush administration, the people who ran the program at that time should also bear responsibility for their failure to follow and enforce our laws.

At a minimum some people should lose their jobs and honestly some people ought to end up in prison.

I know that many people don't consider the people who have been injured or killed in Mexico as important. I was talking to a lady this weekend and mentioned this scandal and how it might have resulted in as many as 200 deaths in Mexico. She said that she didn't really give a damn about Mexicans and how they have absolutely no right to come into our nation illegally and they should be kicked out. This conversation occurred shortly after we had been discussing her experiences in church and how she was the only Democrat in her church study group. (Perhaps I should add that this lady is my ex-wife. Our conversation reinforced my view that I am damn glad that I am no longer married to her.)

7. That was almost Nixonesque
All it needed was an adjective like "overzealous" and a few mentions of national security.
