8 NYPD cops craged with firearms trafficking.
Here's a twist, guns being smuggled out of NYC to be sold criminals...

8 Officers Charged With Gun Trafficking in U.S. Corruption Case
By WILLIAM K. RASHBAUM

Eight current and former New York Police Department officers were arrested early Tuesday on federal charges including gun trafficking and conspiracy to smuggle cigarettes, according to people briefed on the case.

The charges allege that the officers — five are still on the force and three are retired — were involved in illegally transporting more than a dozen handguns as well as M-16 assault rifles and shotguns and a variety of stolen property, the people briefed on the case said. The officers, along with a former New Jersey correction officer and three civilians, were arrested at their homes before sunrise by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and investigators from the Police Department’s Internal Affairs Bureau, the people said.

The gun-trafficking allegations strike at the heart of one of the New York Police Department’s most hard-fought and robust initiatives, and one that has been a central theme of the administration of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg: getting guns off the street of New York City.

6. I guess there must be people here who actually want gun smuggling to occur ...
in order tho cause more tragedy and help to promote their agenda to impose draconian gun law.

Of course, I could be wrong and maybe those who support gun ownership and RKBA want absolutely no restrictions and have no problem with criminals getting firearms. Those people want (as suggested by some here) to arm absolutely everybody.

I'm a member of the group who sees no problem with allowing honest, sane and responsible citizens to own and even carry firearms in public. That means that I support many of the existing gun control laws such as the NICS background check and laws against the straw purchase or smuggling of firearms. Such laws help to reduce the tragedies that occur from the misuse of firearms.

I have a considerable amount of money and time invested in my hobby, so I want to see reasonable existing laws enforced and those who break them punished severely. I am glad to recommend a post highlights the fact that some corrupt cops in New York city were caught smuggling firearms.

But the article also mentions other corruption in the NYPD including charges that some police officers trumped up charges against innocent victims. Any citizen should be furious if this actually happened.

Maybe one of those who unrecommended this post will man up and explain their reasoning. Somehow, I doubt it.

10. Yup. I can't argue with your reason at all...
I definitely understand the eyesight problem. I finally get to the point where I am fairly good at target shooting a handgun and my eyesight goes to hell and to top it off, I have to use glasses to read. In my case, getting old sucks.

12. I hear ya there spin, I have lost the sight in my left eye
Thank goodness I am right eye dominant but now I need to wear reading glasses so I have to use the reading glasses to look down the sights and then adjust to look at the target without any glasses. I would agree with you, in my case, getting old sucks also.

so that's why he is having people buy guns at gun shows, so he can sell them to line his pockets.
