Only in America: Las Vegas to open 'ultra gun lounge' where guests are trained by 'gun girls'
from the http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/article-2053721/Las-Vegas-gun-club-Sin-City-open-luxury-gun-lounge.html?ITO=1490">Daily Mail:

Las Vegas is well known as a destination where – if such things are to your liking – you can indulge in a few days of heavy gambling and partying.

But now it seems that visitors to Sin City will be able to try their hand at another, rather more dangerous pastime – shooting automatic weapons.

...snip...

Situated just behind the Mirage Hotel near the city’s central Strip, Las Vegas’s first ‘ultra gun lounge’ will glamourise the use of firearms.

Guests will be taught how to fire weapons by 'stunning gun girls’.

But, not to worry: they're all certified by the National Rifle Association...

...might even kill your gun.

8. Yep, I guy I work with went there to shot some weapons.
He was kind of disappointed afterwards.

I guess this is why they are going with the "eye candy" angle.

9. The guys I have seen who work there are beefcakes
Turns out that it is also an outstanding place to try different hand guns before purchase.

11. So they are for eye candy for both sexes now.
I thought most places have a "try before you buy" range.

12. This was about as nice a one as I had seen
It was a few years ago and few of the group I was riding with wanted to try some things out. Black BDU pants, bloused boots, tight fitted black t-shirt showing off the 6 pack seemed to be the uniform of the day. Not sure what it is like today.

10. What's the problem?
Most civilian firearms enthusiasts never get a chance to see much less handle and fire an automatic weapon. I'd find it thrilling, I'm sure. Yeah, they could ditch the hot chicks angle IMO but it's Vegas, after all. Even the comic cons go with the hot chicks angle. It's a Vegas variation on things like baseball fantasy camps going with the aging sports heroes angle. Schlocky but fun.

What I really want to see is a Top Shot Fantasy Camp, modeled after the TV series. History channel should jump on that. I bet they'd have no trouble securing sponsorships to make it happen.

20. Shooting fully automatic weapons on a range is fun!
It doesn't even require the assistance of a "stunning gun girl" to be enjoyable. But then again, this range is in Las Vegas.

21. I shot an H&K MP5 and a Browning Automatic Rifle
at a range here in Colorado some time ago. I was given the H&K to shoot because the Uzi I tried was a jam-o-matic.

As you said...fun!

I can only assume that the one I tried to use had some sort of mechanical defect.

Instructors? I have heard of the place. A good friend of mine (who happened to be Canadian) went there. Rachel Maddow went shooting there once.
How dangerous is it to shoot at paper targets?
I am missing the issue other than the quality of UK journalism?

If I'm going to drop money, it isn't going to be on some spinning noise wheel. It'll be on some smoking noise machine.

31. Sounds great to me...
I've been to the gun store on Tropicana Blvd in Vegas and got to shoot a Thompson Sub-machine gun. Had a blast shooting my nazi-zombie target. A little pricey at $50 for 50 rounds but with "stunning gun girls", this place will probably be more expensive than that.
