No charges for armed man in Minneapolis robber killing

The armed citizen who shot and killed armed robber Darren Evanovich last week in a Cub Foods parking lot will not face criminal charges, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Friday.
Freeman determined the unidentified man acted in self-defense when Evanovich, who had just robbed and pistol whipped a woman, pointed a handgun at him and told him to mind his own business. The man, who was licensed to carry a handgun, had witnessed the robbery, drove up to Evanovich and asked for the woman's purse back.

This guy was a hero in my book. Went back and asked the man for the purse back. The idiot criminal had two choices. Hand back the purse or threaten the witness with a gun. He chose poorly.

How long before this criminal would have shot or killed someone.
