Bloomberg to gear up for stings in Turkey?

Mexico Makes Biggest-Ever Firearms Seizure

Federal authorities confiscated 911 guns from a container ship in the port of Lazaro Cardenas, on Mexico's Pacific, which was headed to Nicaragua.

The guns were found on board a cargo ship en route to Nicaragua, during a planned stop at the Michoacan port of Lazaro Cardenas. The ship is believed to be of Turkish origin, but no information was provided on the origin or destination of the weapons.

Over 7,000 imported pistols seized in airport raid

PESHAWAR: In a raid at the Peshawar Airport, the intelligence agencies seized over 7,000 foreign-made pistols and three million rounds that were being illegally transported from Ankara (Turkey), sources told The News.

-snip-

“The incident is second since November 7 when 12,000 pistols were imported from Turkey illegally and through fake documents,” said an official.

I predict Mayor Bloomberg and the Mayors-Against-Illegal-Guns will conduct covert buys in Turkey in order to close the International Small Arms loophole.

1. It's those darn infamous damascus blades
If the turkish can learn how to learn metal, soon us barbarians in the US can!!!

I mean if someone was to form metal into a tube...obviously the world would end.

Thank god US citizens cannot fathom basic metalworking!

3. This is fairly self-evident if you actually scruitinize the weapons displayed on police trophy table
s in mexico from siezures.

Yeah, some of it comes from the US, but quite a lot of it simply cannot be acquired in the US. (Except, via US Government arms exports to the Mexican Government, whereupon they can be stolen)

4. Well, he does have his own army...
"I predict Mayor Bloomberg and the Mayors-Against-Illegal-Guns will conduct covert buys in Turkey in order to close the International Small Arms loophole."

Well, he does have his own army, or so he thinks:

Mayor Bloomberg: ‘I Have My Own Army’

In a speech at MIT last night to discuss the packed sweepstakes to build a tech campus in New York City, Mayor Bloomberg said he prefers City Hall to the White House. Almost immediately after Mayor Bloomberg dampened recent speculation he’s eyeing a White House bid, he added fuel to the fire by explaining why a mayor would be the best person for the job.

Mayor Bloomberg’s recent criticism of President Obama for allowing the debt reduction Supercommittee to fail led many political tea leaf watchers to believe he’s eyeing a potential White House bid. To the dismay of those who hope he’ll mount presidential campaign, Mayor Bloomberg began his speech last night by discussing why City Hall is just fine by him.

“I have my own army in the NYPD, which is the seventh biggest army in the world. I have my own State Department, much to Foggy Bottom’s annoyance. We have the United Nations in New York, and so we have an entree into the diplomatic world that Washington does not have,” Mayor Bloomberg said.

Plus, as has been eluded to, hes demonstrated multiple times exactly what he thinks or "rule of law", at least where that phrase pertains to him and his actions.

7. Thing is, of the six armies bigger than the NYPD...
...one is Turkey's. It's the second largest army in NATO and counting reserve personnel, it outnumbers the NYPD by 15 to 1.

I find it a bit disturbing that a mayor would refer to his city's police force as an "army," mind you, but as you say "rule of law" doesn't figure highly in Bloomberg's list of priorities.

6. No, it just couldn't be...
All guns found in Mexico come from Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California.
