From the video, sales are 4X last year. Firearms set a new record for Black Friday.
JANESVILLE (WIFR) -- Consumers are spending more than ever this holiday season, and one item in particular is firing off record sale numbers.
Nationwide, handgun sales set a one-day record on Black Friday. Wisconsin shops sold 904 of the firearms: more than four times the daily state average. Gun shop owners are expecting the increased numbers to continue for a few months and say there's been one noticeable change in their customer base since the shopping season picked up.
Addie's Firearms owner Lawrence Addie said, "There's a lot of lady customers which really surprises me, that are buying guns and taking the concealed weapons classes we offer. Christmas probably has something to do with that, but this new gun law in Wisconsin has a lot to do with it."
Wisconsin's Department of Justice is on pace to process more than 12 thousand handgun permits in December.
Clarification: Since Wisconsin does not require a permit to merely own a handgun then that 12K likely means CCW permits.
I guess all those sales must be part of that backlash.
