Woman Shot Numerous Times By Former Boyfriend
Police have charged Andra Blackmon with shooting his former girlfriend numerous times Monday morning and also firing at two other people.
Blackmon, 45, was arrested on charges of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
Officials said Melissa Johnson, 37, was shot in both legs, her thigh, her hand and her neck.
Blackmon was involved in another incident with Ms. Johnson on July 25. She said she returned to her residence at 4408 Kayla Circle and found an upstairs window screen had been removed and a computer chair cut up. She said she heard a noise and found Blackmon under a bed.
Ms. Johnson said she had kicked Blackmon out of the unit a couple of days earlier.
Blackmon in that case was charged with especially aggravated burglary and was released on his own recognizance by Magistrate Charles Rucker. He was directed to have no further contact with Ms. Johnson.
