Intruder killed in botched robbery
Surprised resident fires handgun, killing suspect

The victim was at home, asleep, but woke up when the man forced his way into the home, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Sgt. Gerrit Tesselaar said. The victim armed himself with a handgun and held the 23-year-old intruder at gunpoint.

As the victim tried to call 911, the suspect moved to attack him, and the resident shot him once in the chest, Tesselaar said. (rest of copyrighted article snipped)

an intruder broke into a private residence and the home owner shot him. new mexico law allows a person to use deadly force in self-defense.

these guys are 100 % justified in shooting intruders.
