I also would bet that somebody is hollering about the source being right wing. Probably some sort of ad hominem attack or something. Too bad for some people that the facts are that Kroger and Perkins are allowing CCWers in their stores now.

13. Kroger signs

I checked our local Kroger store last night. The "No concealed firearms" signs have been replaced with signs saying that "These premises are monitored for your protection."

I went in, thanked the manager, and spent $50.

14. Same thing happened here...

...when CCW first became law. Signs went up in quite a few places banning CCW in their establishments. A lot of them had bought that old moralistic crap the gun control crowd is always pushing about "the children." But is started to hurt the old bottom line, so most of the signs came down. In fact, I don't remember the last time I saw a "No Concealed Weapons" sign here.
Of course, in my state the Democrats who control every branch of government where the ones who first wrote, then passed the original CCW legislation in the first place...according to some I've heard they CAN'T be REAL Democrats, now can they? Sarcasm/

15. Now my wife and I will shop at Kroger again

We did quite well at Wally World and Winn Dixie during our mini boycott. I doubt that Kroger will ever get as much of our business as it used to. That's what happens when alternatives are explored - sometimes you find something better at the competition. Had Kroger done the honorable thing and never barred carrying CCW holders from their stores in Ohio, we might never have discovered that we could shop more wisely for some items at other outlets.

16. When my state passed CCW, the local Krogers put up no gun signs.

they were down within 2 weeks.

The ONLY places I've seen a "no guns allowed" sign recently was at the courthouse and the post office.

Strange, but Krogers around here haven't become abattoirs.

Despite the best efforts of the doomsayers the streets have NOT become killing grounds when states begin issuing concealed weapons permits. Perhaps that's because only law abiding citizens bother to get concealed weapons permits.

When a state goes CCW, a flurry of signs fly up. Many of these signs are legitmate warnings (i.e. no carry in liquor establishments when banned by law), others are from fearful shop owners, or dictated by lawyers/insurance companys etc.

However as time goes on, those signs go down quickly as well.

Its been repeated dozens and dozens of times as the nation recognizes CCW.

Are you afraid that an inanimate piece of steel will somehow trip us into a violent rage?

I've had a loaded gun in my home ever since I could afford my own. There have been guns in my house since I was 10, at least (when my dad gave me the .22 rifle he had when he was 10)

Never had any problems, although my 9mm pinched the tip of my thumb once when I was reassembling it.

And it was very helpful to have that same weapon on my hip the day I came back to my apartment, and two thugs from the complex headed across the parking lot with bats in their hands, threatening to beat me to death.

Never drew the weapon, just turned to my left to go up the stairs, letting them see I was armed, while watching them quietly. Turned them right around.

Damm good thing VA didn't have a waiting period ... I'd just bought it that day.
