Eliran Golan, charged with planning to murder Arab-Israelis, including Knesset member, in serious condition after hanging himself in holding cell

"Jewish terror suspect Eliran Golan, charged with planning to murder Arab civilians, including Knesset Member Issam Makhoul, attempted to commit suicide early Thursday in the Kishon detention center.

Guards noticed Golan, who hung himself, and called in a doctor. He was later taken to Haifa’s Rambam hospital and is currently in very serious condition.


Two months ago, a court ruled Golan is sane and is fit to stand trial. According to the indictment served against him, he placed four explosive devices meant to hurt Arab residents in Haifa. Some of the charges exploded, while others were discovered ahead of time."
