Palestinian refugees donate 10,000 dollars to Katrina victims
RAMALLAH, West Bank - A Palestinian refugee committee on Tuesday donated 10,000 dollars to help the tens of thousands of Americans made homeless by Hurricane Katrina.

Representatives from Palestinian refugee camps, which house some of the most disadvantaged people in the Middle East, handed the cheque to US consul general Jacob Walles in the West Bank town of Ramallah.

1. How sweet of these people
who can't really afford it to want to reach out to others who share common problems especially Americans. This shows they are more humane and moral than they are given credit for.

2. I think you just gave the reason why this article has likely been ignored
Anything that shows Palestinians to be humane and moral just doesn't carry the same wow factor as repeatedly making sweeping negative generalisations of them as anti-Semite terrorist-supporters and all-round enemies of all that is good and pure in the world...

It's the assistance given by those who still need help themselves that impresses me far more than the massive assistance given by countries and individuals who are wealthy - Indonesia offering a large medical team despite the fact that they're still recovering from the tsunami is one example, as well as one of the poorest countries in the world offering aid...
