Is this showing the suicide bombers in Iraq that the strategy works. It apparently worked for the Palestinians. What it means to me is that the quicker the withdrawal takes place the fewer people will die. Get America out of Iraq now as the result will be no different than with Israel and Gaza Strip. Was it Einstein who said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.

3. Irrelevant
Pulling out of Gaza was in Israel's best interest in several ways.

5. True enough
but I can still see the people of Iraq viewing
the Gaza pullout as a sign that the beast can be beaten

4. That isn't true at all.
Demographics are the driving factor, not suicide bombings, not altruism, not anything else. The truth is that if Israel continued its current path, the sheer number of Arab-Israelis would force a situation where Israel would have to either cease being a democracy or cease being a Jewish state. That is not a decision they really want to make, so approaching some sort of two state plan on THEIR terms, not someone else's, was the obvious decision.
